The Clarity® Ensemble™ with free ClearCaptions captioning service features amplification up to 50dB, making it an ideal amplified telephone for people with severe hearing loss. A 7" color touchscreen display large captions for people with low vision. The Clarity Ensemble also features Clarity's ClarityLogic™ feature, which allows a Clarity® customer support representative to remotely adjust your phone's settings for you.

How the Ensemble works

Captioning service on the Clarity Ensemble captioned phone is free, but does require land line phone service and high speed Internet.
  • ClearCaptions phone captioning service is funded by the U.S. government and provided for U.S. residents only. Only telephone calls where one party of the call is located in the U.S. can be processed.
  • Slight delays are normal as part of the captioning process. A live person re-voices the conversation in conjunction with a voice recognition software program.

Requirements:

  • Home phone service (landline or VOIP)
  • High speed Internet for uninterrupted service and software updates

What to expect after you place your Ensemble Amplified Captioned Phone order

  • One to five days after placing your order, the ClearCaptions Concierge Team will contact you to schedule a time with connecting and registering your Ensemble, as well as review Ensemble's features and benefits.
  • Three to five days after placing your order, the Ensemble phone will be shipped to you.
  • After receiving your Ensemble, a member of the ClearCaptions Concierge Team will contact you on your scheduled day/time to assist you with setup, registration and tips and tricks on using your new Ensemble phone.

    I used this at a friend's house and loved it. Ordered mine the same day, however I did not understand that a plain old landline connection is required. The internet needs are explained clearly, but most people in our area have everything through the computer modem. I am not happy I have to pay for a landline to make this work, but I will.     It is important to remember that the phone is analog (and does not work with many digital phone systems.). Yet you need digital, broad band internet. TWC came out twice before we got their triple play system functioning with the phone AND internet! However, I no longer fear having to talk on the phone anymore!...exactly what I needed!     After years of using a relay type phone , I have found that this phone to be much better for me because I can call the party I need to call myself and be able to redial without calling the relay every time.     we had high hopes for this product, especially for the answering machine aspect...but the captioning on the messages left consistently gave us only part of the message and even then got enough of the words wrong so as to make it unintelligible.... we had to send the Ensemble back -- though Harris properly gave us a full refund for which we were pleased (Posted on 4/25/14)

    Suffering from Sudden Hearing Loss, Meniere's or whatever I am being treated for at this time has made talking on a regular or cell phone almost impossible, The Clarity has solved that issue. I can have business and personal conversations close to what I had before. Closed captioning is like TV..a second or two behind, If you explain it to the person you're talking with its not an issue.     If I could ever get this phone hooked up and running like I'm supposed to then maybe I could review properly. Been a nightmare! Need to be more specific when selling the phone that you need high speed internet, my mom is 85 year old and didn't have internet at her house, so that is an added expense, then I wasn't told, and it's not in the instructions, that you have to set up an account online at clear captions before you can get the captions, then once I "thought" I had the information set up I never received an email to continue. So I tried to go back to set up again and because I'm already in the system, or she is, I can't set up again. Then it's telling me I either have to buy a phone or pay the $75. I have the phone but there's no where to put in the serial number or anything telling the online system that I have one. ARRRGGGGG! If the captions are not better than the last phone she had the phone WILL be returned! (Posted on 1/4/14)

    Mom is 90 yrs old and couldn't hear a thing on the phone. Frustrating for her and for us. While the phone is very intuitive to set up and use, teaching her to use anything new is a challenge. When she remembers to turn on the cc feature its a great product. The time delay on the captioning is an issue, but as long as the callers know to be patient then it works beautifully. The price was right, the setup easy. It solved our communication problems. Highly recommend this phone. (Posted on 10/31/13)

    I agree with other Reviewers Comments, the captioning seems to be a bid slow, but the Volume Control Works Great? If any future enhancements are considered, adding a Speaker Phone Capability would be a great addition, for anyone wishing to listen in on the conversation. (Posted on 8/23/13)

    I can easily hear the voice using the Clarity Ensemble Phone, usually without the voice boost. The captioning is the weakest part of the phone in that it is slow and often not correct. The voice engine used by the now defunct app, Orchestra, almost never misses a word whereas this translator seems to miss quite a few words. The fact that the text arrives about 2 or 3 seconds later than the sound of the voice is still a bit confusing. It is a good phone and it is a shame the captions are not a little faster and more accurate. A software upgrade could make this a 5 star phone. (Posted on 8/2/13)
