The Sound Monitor is a transmitter that alerts any 318MHz Silent Call receiver to sounds such as a baby's cry, an apartment door buzzer, alarm clock, oven timer, etc. The monitor features a delay circuit so that loud sounds that are very brief (door slams, etc) will not activate the monitor even if they are above the detection threshold. When the Sound Monitor detects a sound that is above the threshold, it sends a signal to any Silent Call receiver (except the Shake-Up). The Sound Monitor uses two AAA batteries.

In order to be notified, you will need to purchase a receiver that lets you know when the signaler or transmitter is activated.
