It took a call to the distributor to learn how to really use this unit. I have telecoil equipped hearing aids and only need to turn the device on along with my t-coil setting on the hearing aids, and I'm using it as a mini portable looping system. You only need to use the T button if your aids don't have t-coil setting and you are in a looped location.

It really serves just as the name states, a listener. Or, an amplifier, but as a portable loop it transmits the sound directly into your hearing aids, which is a major help in most cases.

I use mine when checking into hotels, or checking out of stores, or if I'm in a large room with a number of chattering people and I only have the need to converse with two or three of them at one time.

As is the case with hearing aids, the technology is not quite where it needs to be yet, but also like hearing aids, it's about the best option available for the purpose it serves.

As for Harris, the price was reasonable, not the cheapest online, but dealing with a reputable company with the extra features was appealing, the shipping was fast, and the sales rep I spoke with led me to this device rather than another I was considering, and after enjoying the convenience of using this listener I appreciate his suggestion.

You will notice some questioning looks at the unit when you wear it, but who cares? (Posted on 4/25/2015)

There are pluses to this update, howevr I loved original.except that it wsa inadvertantly turned off when put in purse or such Original wa smaller, easier neck loop connection (Posted on 5/23/2014)
